Inukshuk, meaning, likeness of a person, in the Inuit language, is a stack of rocks made by ancient peoples of the high arctic. These stone forms were used as directional guides, markers or memorials, and as helpers in hunting caribou. Ancient tradition forbids the destruction of inuksuit (plural). An artistic rendering of an inukshuk is used in the logo for the 2010 Winter Olympics to be held in Vancouver, Canada. These figurines are carefully handcrafted from a variety of coloful Alaskan stones with no two images alike. Approximately 6" H x 3" W.
