All proceeds go back to Goldbelt, an Alaska Native corporation consisting of nearly 3,600 Alaskan Native shareholders, primarily in the Juneau region. Goldbelt, Incorporated's commitment and mission is to make a significant and positive difference in the lives of its shareholders. Goldbelt does this by distributing dividends, providing shareholder-preference employment, providing scholarships and grants for shareholders and shareholder descendants to achieve higher education, and through cultural enrichment and empowerment. What is the difference between "Made in Alaska" and "Silver Hand?"
Items may be labeled as "Made in Alaska," if they are manufactured or hand-made here in Alaska. Items labeled "Silver Hand" can only be labeled as such if they are genuine Alaskan Native made. All "Silver Hand" items can be labeled as "Made in Alaska," but not all "Made in Alaska" items can be labeled as "Silver Hand."
Are the Silver Hand items authentic Alaska Native made?
Yes! While not all of our "Silver Hand" items come with a government sponsored "Silver Hand" sticker, all of our items in the Silver Hand Items section are authentic, Alaskan Native made. To be certified with the official State of Alaska Silver Hand Program, Native artists have to pay, and in addition to this fee, additional Silver Hand stickers cost money. Due to this, some of our featured artists do not participate in the Silver Hand program. Artists have various reasons for this: for some, their name is so well known there is no reason to participate in the program, while for others, it is not worth the cost to participate in the program. At RavenEagleGifts.com, we value the authenticity of our products and would be more than happy to supply you with an artist biography to the best of our ability; it is the authentic items that make us unique and valuable. Authenticity pays off.
