Mark Kelley has been a freelance photographer for over 20 years. His photos have appeared on the cover of more than 100 publications including
Alaska
and national magazines, books, brochures, calendars and annual reports.
Mark's images illustrate many books of photography. His latest includes a 128-page, full-color book on
Glacier Bay
National Park
and a book on
Alaska
. In 1997, Mark published Juneau Portrait II, a 98-page book of color photographs of
Alaska
's capital city.
This is the 14th edition of Mark's Southeast Calendar. He also publishes a
Juneau
,
Alaska
calendar and a line of notecards featuring a color photo on the front and a blank interior.
Mark was born and raised in
Buffalo
,
NY
. He moved to
Alaska
in 1974 to attend the
University
of
Alaska
in
Fairbanks
. Graduating in 1978 with a degree in journalism and northern studies, he worked as the photographer for the Juneau Empire for 14 years until 1993, when he left to freelance full-time.
Mark lives in
Juneau
with his wife and two sons, Gabe and Owen. He and his family are avid outdoors-people, especially enjoying soccer, skiing, and camping.
